Diablo IV Season 14 — Season of Death Awakening

By the DiabloBytes team · Updated July 15, 2026 · Live since June 30 · Current patch 3.1.1

Season 14 — Season of Death Awakening is live since June 30, 2026 on patch 3.1.0 (current live build: 3.1.1, July 14). It is the first full post–Lord of Hatred season, built around Pandemonium Ruptures, a top-to-bottom Mythic Unique 3.0 rework, and long-requested Solo Self-Found mode. Community reaction to the Mythic economy was rocky in week one; 3.1.1 specifically fixed boss Mythic drop sources and trimmed craft costs.

Pandemonium Ruptures — The Seasonal Mechanic

Tears in reality split open across Sanctuary, spilling out the undead Risen. You earn more the longer a Rupture stays open — fight the monsters that pour through and close the Tears to bank rewards. There are three rupture tiers:

  • Normal Ruptures Spawn in the overworld and during Helltides — the baseline farm.
  • Surging Ruptures Appear during Helltide events for denser, higher-value waves.
  • Colossal Ruptures Found only in the Fields of Desecration — the top-end version.

Closing Ruptures awards Glints of Hope, redeemable at the Zarbinzet or Temis reputation boards. The board, caches, and boss kills also drop Pandemonium Fragments — the crafting material for Mythic Unique 3.0. 3.1.0 sped up tear closure and spawn rates; 3.1.1 fixed monsters spawning too far from portals.

The Corrupted Reaper — Seasonal Lair Boss

Season 14's lair boss is The Corrupted Reaper, fought at the Pandemonium Threshold in Zarbinzet. On Torment I and above its rewards cache requires Superior Lair Keys (the former Betrayer's Husks tier). After 3.1.1 it drops up to two Pandemonium Fragments scaling with Torment — one of the best Fragment and Mythic routes in the season.

Mythic Unique 3.0 — Crafting Rework

The biggest evergreen change this season: any Unique can now become Mythic, by drop or by crafting.

  • Mythic Uniques are always Ancestral and carry 30% increased Unique Powers
  • Every Unique rolls two guaranteed affixes
  • Crafting unlocks at level 70 in Torment+ via the Horadric Cube or Jeweler
  • Slot-locked recipes — "Boots in, Mythic Boots out"; 1H weapons, offhands, and shields share one category
  • Only one crafted Mythic Unique can be equipped at a time; dropped or cache Mythics are unlimited
  • Upgrade to Mythic costs 4 Pandemonium Fragments after 3.1.1 (was 5 at launch)
  • Lair Boss and other Unique sources correctly drop Mythics again after the 3.1.1 bug fix

Solo Self-Found Mode

Solo Self-Found is a seasonal-only character state in both Normal and Hardcore. SSF characters cannot join parties or trade, and they compete on dedicated SSF-only Tower Leaderboards. The choice is permanent for the season; the character reverts to a standard Eternal character once the season ends. Patch 3.1.1 fixed the SSF icon sometimes failing to show on the Friends list.

Warlock Trial & Overwatch Crossover

Free Warlock Trial Ended

Ran June 30 – July 7 (10:00 AM PT). Players without Lord of Hatred could take the Warlock to level 25; that progress still carries forward if they buy the expansion later.

Overwatch x Diablo Crossover

Started June 30. Defeat Elite and Champion monsters to earn Eye of the Overwatch currency, spend it on crossover skins in Tejal's Shop, and claim a Kiriko Fox Spirit companion pet from the Reliquary.

Season Rank Rewards

The free Season Journey runs 9 ranks across 120+ objectives. Cumulative rewards include:

  • Up to 12 Skill Points and 42 Paragon points
  • 7 Resplendent Sparks
  • 5 Mythic Unique Caches
  • Greystone pet and the Remains of the Reaper Mount Trophy

Roughly 15% of Season Journey objectives require Lord of Hatred. The core loop — Ruptures, Corrupted Reaper, Mythic crafting, and SSF — is available to all D4 players. 3.1.1 fixed the Terrorize The Night Season Rank objective failing to progress.

What To Do Now (Mid-Season)

  3. 3

  4. 4
