Paragon Board & Glyphs
By the DiabloBytes team · Updated July 2026
Paragon is Diablo IV's post-level-60 progression system. Each Paragon level grants 4 Paragon Points spent on a graph of interconnected boards. Boards carry build-defining Legendary nodes and Glyph Sockets — the Glyphs themselves level up via Nightmare Dungeons to provide the dominant damage multipliers on your build. Optimizing Paragon + Glyphs is how builds go from "functional" to "Pit 100+."
The Six Node Types
- ◆ Normal +5 attribute (usually main stat). Filler.
- ◆ Magic Small multi-stat bonus. Activates bigger stat when an attribute threshold is reached.
- ◆ Rare Large multi-stat bonus. Has attribute thresholds that unlock a huge bonus when met.
- ◆ Legendary The board’s signature mechanic. Only active when reached — this is what defines a board’s purpose.
- ◆ Glyph Socket One per board. Slot a Glyph to gain a radius-based bonus to adjacent nodes.
- ◆ Gate Connector node at the edge of each board. Attach the next board here.
Glyph Leveling
Glyphs drop from Level 60+ content. Level them by completing Nightmare Dungeons with the Glyph socketed. Each NMD tier grants +2 Glyph XP, scaling up to 202 XP at Tier 100. Key thresholds:
- Rank 15 — Radius expands from 3 to 4 nodes
- Rank 46 — Radius expands from 4 to 5 nodes + tertiary bonus unlocks
- Rank 100 — Current cap. Tertiary bonus at maximum value.
Board Path Strategy
- 1 Rush the Legendary node on each board — everything else is filler until you reach it.
- 2 Route through the Glyph Socket — socketed Glyph adds radius-based bonuses to any nodes within its range.
- 3 Hit Rare node attribute thresholds en route — these are the hidden big bonuses.
- 4 Exit via the Gate toward the next board that fits your build.
- 5 Respec freely — Paragon respec is per-point and cheap. Iterate.
